DHAKA, Dec 1, 2024 (BSS) – Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman today accorded a reception to the gallantry award holder valiant freedom fighters of Bangladesh Army and awarded peace-time medals to the Army personnel.

The Army Chief handed over mementos and conferred peace-time awards to the recipients marking the Armed Forces Day-2014, a release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said here this evening.

A total of 28 army personnel were conferred different awards in recognition of their heroic activities and courage in various fields during the 2023-‘24 financial year.

Of the total, five were awarded with ‘Army Medal (SBP)’, five were “Osamanyo Seba Padak (OSP)" and 18 others were awarded with "Bishishta Seba Padak (BSP).

In the reception, the Army Chief highlighted the outstanding contributions of the valiant freedom fighters.

This function is being organized each year as part of recalling the contributions of the valiant freedom fighters in the War of Liberation in 1971.

On the occasion, the army chief greeted the award-winners along with their family members and enquired about their well-being.

Family members of gallantry award-winners and their family members, high-ranking military officials and invited guests, among others, were present there.
