Govt. firm to accomplish all pledges from reforms to election: Adviser

BRAHMANBARIA, Dec 1, 2024 (BSS) - Liberation War Affairs Advisor to the Interim Government Freedom Fighter Farooq-e-Azam, Bir Pratik today said the interim government will accomplish all of its commitments from reforms to holding a free and fair election.

“We will accomplish everything from carrying out the reforms and holding a free and fair election. It’s our firm determination,” he told journalists while visiting the Kollapathar Shaheed Cemetery to pay tribute to the Liberation War martyrs in Kasba, Brahmanbaria today.

The adviser said the commission formed to oversee reforms is expected to submit its report by mid-December or the second week of January. Once completed, the report will be made public, and after consultations with political parties, citizens, and stakeholders, the government will expedite the election process, he added.

Regarding the fake claims to freedom fighter status, Farooq-e-Azam, said, “Those who falsely claim to be freedom fighters have betrayed the nation. It is our collective responsibility to expose these deceivers”.

Secretary to Liberation War Affairs Ministry Israt Jahan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Saiful Islam and Kasba Upazila Nirbahi Officer Muhammad Shahriar Muktar, among others, were present on the occasion.
