Students need technology and innovative skills: BRUR VC

RANGPUR, Dec 4, 2024 (BSS) – Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali   said that students need to acquire technology and innovative skills through training.
 
“The current era is the era of digital technology. Technology has become a daily necessity in people's daily lives. Students can learn about developing skills in technology and innovation through various types of training,” he said.
 
Along with students, digital skills need to be enhanced for teachers, officials and employees, he said.
 
The VC said this while speaking as chief guest at a workshop on ‘Activation Program Digital Skills for Students' held at the university’s cafeteria on Wednesday.
 
The workshop was organized under the management of the BRUR Centre for Digital Transformation (CDT) under the Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project run by the Bangladesh Computer Council.
 
Chaired by BRUR CDT Director Professor Dr Md Mizanul Rahman, Director of the Office of the Student Affairs of BRUR,  Dr Md Ileas Pramanik, EDGE Project Manager Dr Md Mazharul Haque, Rangpur Regional Director of Bangladesh Computer Council Engineer Md Aminul Islam and Co-Founder and CEO of Nerd Castle Limited Zohirul Alam Tiemoon as an industry specialist attended the event as special guests.
