DHAKA, Dec 5, 2024 (BSS) - Corps of Military Police (CMP) of Bangladesh Army today organised the Annual Captain Conference-2024 at Corps of Military Police Centre and school (CMPC&S), adjacent to the Savar Cantonment.

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman was present at the programme as the chief guest, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release this evening.

Speaking on the occasion, he recalled the contribution of all the valiant freedom fighters, including the brave CMP soldiers, who embraced martyrdom in the Great War of Independence. 

He also appreciated the CMP’s role in the international arena and congratulated every member of the corps on the occasion.

General Waker also mentioned the glorious tradition of the CMP in maintaining the order and security of the army and the contribution of the Corps to the country as well. 

The army chief exchanged views with all concerned on various issues, including technical development, research, professional skill enhancement and future plans of the corps. 

Earlier on his arrival at the CMP Center and School, he was welcomed by the GOC, Army Training and Doctrine Command, GOC, 9 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Savar area and Commandant, CMPC&S. 

The Chief of General Staff of the Army, GOC, Army Training and Doctrine Command, GOC, 9 Infantry Division and Savar Area Commander, Adjutant General of the Army, Senior Military Officers of Army Headquarters, all CMP units commanders of Bangladesh Army and media personalities were also present there.
