DINAJPUR, Dec 6, 2024 (BSS) - At least three people were killed and 20 others injured at Birganj upazila here this morning.

Of the deceased, two were identified as bus driver Abdul Karim, 35, son of Amjad Ali, who hailed from Debiganj upazila of Panchagardh district, and truck driver Anwar Hossen, 38, hailed from Ahmadpur village of Panchagarh sadar upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Birganj police station M Abdul Gafur said a slipper coach of Heritage Paribahan heading towards Panchagarh collided head-on with a Dinajpur-bound paddy-laden truck in the Kamarpur Jodhurmor area around 11 am, leaving three people dead on the spot and 20 others injured.

Eight critically injured people were admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. Police recovered the bodies.
