DHAKA, Dec 7, 2024 - (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted that weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Besides, day and night temperatures may drop slightly across the country, it said in the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 o'clock this morning.

Moderate to thick fog may occur at the places over the Northern part and light to moderate fog at places elsewhere over the country from late night till early morning, the Met office said.

According to the weather synoptic, "Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and its adjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over the South Bay, extending its trough up to Northeast Bay of Bengal."

A low-pressure area is likely to form over the central parts of the South Bay of Bengal during 24 hours, it added.

Friday the highest temperature in the country was 31 degree Celsius in Sitakunda. Country's lowest temperature is recorded today at 9.9 degree Celsius at Badalgachhi in Rajshahi.

The wind speed in Dhaka was 5 to 10 km per hour from north and north-west directions while the relative humidity (RH) of the air in Dhaka at 6 am today was 73 percent.

In Dhaka, the sun will set today at 5:11 PM and the rise will be at 6:29 AM tomorrow.
