DHAKA, Dec 7, 2024(BSS) - Additional Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md Masud Karim today said police is always ready to provide all sorts of legal services to the people.
“Without people’s cooperation, police cannot provide their services efficiently,” he said while addressing a view-exchange meeting with the students, police and elites of Palton area at Ananda Community Centre in the city's Naya Paltan area.
Masud Karim, also chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC), urged people to go to the police stations without any fear or hesitation to get any legal services. “If you don’t get your desired services from the police stations, please inform the officer-in-charge (OC) of zonal deputy commissioners (DCs) about the matter,” he said, adding that the Commissioner has already instructed the OCs to take any legal or logical complaints from people.
“We got a new Bangladesh through the students- people's mass uprising. We want to work together for building the country anew, the Additional Commissioner said, adding police are not the opponent of people, rather police is the opponent of terrorists and extortionists.
The CTTC Chief urged people to provide information about the drug traders, extortionists and terrorists to eliminate them.
The leaders of the community including students and elites of the area shared their opinions and gave various suggestions to the Additional Commissioner regarding problems of the area and assured of providing their all- out cooperation to police.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Motijheel division Md Shahriar Ali, the meeting was attended, among others, by officers of different strata, chiefs of different educational institutions, leaders of different political, social, professional and religious organizations.
