DHAKA, Dec 11, 2024 (BSS) - Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma today stressed the need for increasing the skills of the hill people for becoming proficient in innovative power.
“Hill people need to increase their qualities, skills to become proficient in innovative power,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion, organized marking the International Mountain Day-2024 at the Chittagong Hill Tracts Complex Seminar Hall on Bailey Road in the capital here.
The day with the theme “Mountain solutions for a sustainable future-innovation, adaptation and youth” was celebrated in the country today.
The adviser said that all have to be more careful in conserving and using the water of the Kaptai Lake.
“We need to find more innovative processes to retain and use the water of rivers, canals and streams in the right way and we have to be very conscious in protecting the environment,” he said.
Earlier, the adviser inaugurated the Museum and Collection Centre on the 5th floor of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Complex Building at Bailey Road, here.
Secretary of the Ministry of CHT Affairs A K M Shamimul Huq Siddique presided over the function.
