DHAKA, Dec 11, 2024 (BSS) – BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today called upon all to dedicate themselves for the welfare of the country being inspired with the ideals of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, a legendary politician.

In a message on the eve of Maulana Bhashani’s 144th birth anniversary, Fakhrul said, “Maulana Bhashani was the strong voice of the oppressed people of Afro-Asia and Latin America and a friend of the oppressed and an uncompromising fighter against imperialism, hegemony as well as oppressive rulers and exploitative groups”.

Fakhrul paid deep respect to the memory of oppressed people’s leader Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani and prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul.

He said, “Only if we can hold the courage and bravery of Maulana Bhashani, we will be able to resist all the anti-democratic fascist and destructive forces in future. Maulana Bhashani will inspire us for ages to protect independence, sovereignty and democracy as well as to love the country.” he added.

He urged everyone to learn from the life and works of Maulana Bhashani and move forward with the desired goal of restoring the country's democracy and establishing people's rights.
