DHAKA, Dec 11, 2024 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali today awarded officers of various ranks of the DMP in recognition of their excellent performances in maintaining law and order in the city.

The DMP Commissioner handed over the awards to the officers at the November Monthly Crime Review Meeting at Bangladesh Police auditorium, Rajarbagh here, said a DMP release here.

Mirpur Division has been named as the best among the crime divisions of DMP in November-2024.
Uttara West Thana has been named the best police station while Uttara Zone Assistant Police Commissioner Saddam Hossain has been named the best among the assistant police commissioners.

Among the police inspectors (investigation), Mohammadpur Police Station's Police Inspector (Investigation) Md. Hafizur Rahman was selected as the best.

Banani Police Station's Sub Inspector (SI) Kazi Zahidur Rahman Abir and Mirpur Model Police Station's SI Md. Osman Gani were jointly selected as the best SIs.

Among the Assistant SIs, Mirpur Model Police Station's ASI Md. Ruhul Amin and Kadamtali Police Station's ASI Md. Saiful Islam were jointly selected as the best ASIs.

Banani Police Station's SI Kazi Zahidur Rahman Abir was selected as the best warrant-issuing officer while Adabor Police Station's SI Zahid Hasan was selected as the first in recovering weapons.

Kotwali Police Station's SI Malay Basu was selected as the best in recovering narcotics and Gulshan Police Station's SI Md. Arifin Islam was selected as the best in recovering stolen vehicles.

Among the detective departments, Detective-Cyber and Special Crime (South) was selected as the best. The best team leader was selected as the additional deputy police commissioner of the Wari Zonal Team of the Detective-Wari Division Md. Fazlul Karim.

He was also selected as the best in recovering narcotics.

Tanvir Hasan, assistant police commissioner of the Organized Crime, Vehicle Theft Recovery and Prevention Team of the Detective-Wari Division was selected as the best team leader in recovering stolen vehicles.

The Traffic-North Division came first among the traffic divisions.

The best assistant police commissioner in traffic was Abu Sayem Nayan, assistant police commissioner of Gulshan-Traffic Zone.

The best traffic inspector was Md. Delwar Hossain, traffic inspector of Badda Traffic Zone.

The best traffic sergeant was jointly selected by Sergeant Md. Rafiqul Islam of Uttara East-Traffic Zone and Sergeant Md. Arifur Rahman of Gulshan-Traffic Zone.

In addition, special awards were given to officers and forces of various ranks and departments including the Media and Public Relations Department of the DMP.
