DHAKA, Dec 12, 2024 (BSS) - Social Welfare Adviser Sharmin S Murshid has assured of giving Taka 50,000 as medical assistance to each of 500 persons who were injured during the anti-discrimination student movement in July-August.
The adviser gave this assurance when president of Police Nari Kallyan Samity (PUNAK) Afroza Helen called on her at her ministry office here yesterday.
During the meeting, the PUNAK president described the overall mental, physical and financial conditions of the injured people who are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals and clinics.
The adviser gave a patient hearing to the PUNAK president and assured of providing her all out assistance, including rehabilitation of injured people.
Social Welfare Secretary Dr Md Mohiuddin, Special Officer to the health adviser Tuhin Farabi, Joint Secretary of PUNAK Tawhida Nupur and other officials concerned were present at that time.
