DHAKA, Dec 13, 2024 (BSS) - A five-member delegation led by Religious Service

Coordinator of Embassy of the Republic of Turkey Ozgur Ozyurek called on
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan today at the
latter's office of the university.

Other team members were Munir Turan, Salahuddin Sayeedi, Davud Cicioglu and
Erdinc Erdem, representatives of Istanbul Foundation for Science & Culture
(IFSC), said a university press release.

DU Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed and Associate Professor of
World Religion and Culture Department Dr Abdullah Al Mahmud were also present
on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint
collaborative research programs between DU and different universities in
Turkey.

Arranging the international conference, seminar and workshop under the joint
auspices of DU and IFSC were also discussed in the meeting.

Besides, they discussed the possibilities of reconstruction of central mosque
complex at DU with the financial support from Turkey. Turkish delegation
members expressed willingness to provide scholarship for DU financially
challenged students, read the release.

Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan thanked the Turkish delegation members for their
visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research
activities.
