DU set to mark 54th Victory Day

 

DHAKA, Dec 15, 2022 (BSS) - Dhaka University (DU) authorities have taken all-
out preparation to celebrate the 54th victory Day tomorrow in a befitting
manner.

The programmes included hoisting of national flag, placing wreaths at the
National Memorial at Savar, photo exhibition and cultural programmes, said a
press release.

The national flag will be hoisted atop the main buildings of the university
around 6.20am.

University teachers, students, officers and employees, led by DU Vice-
Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan, will gather on the premises of
Memory eternal at 6:35 am. Later, they will go to National Memorial at Savar
in the morning to pay tribute to Liberation War martyrs.

Like previous years, TSC-based cultural student organizations will hold a
dazzling fireworks display-in front of the Anti-Terrorism Raju Memorial
Sculpture-in the early hours of Victory Day.

Besides, a musical programme organized by the university's music department,
dance department and, theatre and performance studies department, will be
held at university's teacher student centre at 5:45pm.

A cultural programme on Victory Day will be held at TSC at 6.30 pm.

The university campus has already been decorated with colorful lights
including the arts building, TSC, Curzon Hall and Bijoy Ekattor Hall.

Special prayers will be offered after the Zohr prayers at the central mosque
of the university along with other mosques and other places of worship,
seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs who sacrificed
their lives for achieving independence.
