KISHOREGANJ, Dec 16, 2024 (BSS) - Five people, including three women, were killed in a collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a covered van in Jagannathpur area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bhairab of the district this morning.

Two of the deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Sahin and passenger Rajon, residents of Pirijkandi area in Narsingdi district. The identities of the other three victims, all women, are yet to be confirmed.

The accident took place in the area around 9.45 am when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a covered van, leaving five auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot, said M Saju Miah, Officer-in-Charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station.
