DHAKA, Dec 16, 2024 (BSS)- Biman Bangladesh Airlines today observed Victory Day 2024 with much enthusiasm.
On the occasion different programmes befitting to the day were organized in Biman offices and stations.
Cabin crew on all Biman flights greeted the passengers with Victory Day wishes, reflecting the celebratory spirit of the nation, said a Biman press release here.
At sunrise, the national flag was hoisted at the airline’s headquarters, Balaka Bhaban, the Motijheel District Sales Office, and all domestic and international stations. National anthem was played at that time.
A floral tribute was paid to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the Martyrs Memorial located on the Balaka premises.
Managing Director and CEO of Biman, Dr. Md. Safiqul Rahman, along with directors, representatives from various organizations, and employees of different levels, attended the event.
Trade union bodies and employees’ associations of Biman placed wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar.
Biman’s headquarters, district sales office in Motijheel, and all domestic stations were adorned with decorative lighting.
Special prayers were held at Biman's mosques, seeking salvation of the departed soul of the martyrs and almighty’s blessings for the country's peace, progress and prosperity.
On the occasion Biman Flight Catering Centre (BFCC) distributed meals among the inmates of Government Children’s Home for Girls in Tejgaon.
