DHAKA, Dec 18, 2024 (BSS)- Five dengue patients died while 274 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning.

During the period, 33 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 41 in Chattogram, 61 in Dhaka, 38 in Dhaka North and 40 in Dhaka South city, 43 in Khulna, four in Rajshahi, two in Sylhet, three in Rangpur and nine admitted to hospitals in Mymensingh, said a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) press release.

This year, the total number of infection cases rose to 99,569 while total death reached to 556, the release said.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue infection cases.
