DHAKA, Dec 19, 2024(BSS)- Senior lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court Advocate Zainul Abedin has been elected as  vice chairman of Bangladesh Bar Council, the highest regulatory body of the lawyers of the country.

A bar council press release,  issued by the secretary of the council District and Sessions Judge Abdur Rahman Sardar said here today.

The election was held at the conference room of the council with its chairman and Attorney General Md Asaduzzuman in the chair in accordance with sub-section-3 of the clause 6 of Bangladesh Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Order, 1972.

The elected members of the council were present at the meeting.

Advocate Zainul Abedin was elected as vice chairman of the council through direct votes of the elected members, the release added.
