DHAKA, Dec 19, 2024 (BSS) - Japan is providing assistance to implement all necessary reforms of the interim government of Bangladesh.
Japanese ambassador in Dhaka IWAMA Kiminori said this as he paid farewell call on President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban here today.
Subsequently, President’s Press Secretary M Abedin briefed the journalists.
During the meeting, the outgoing Japanese ambassador said Japan is also working to improve the bilateral trade and investment ties as well as the relationships of the people between the two countries.
President Shahabuddin thanked the outgoing ambassador of Japan for successfully doing his assignments here.
He mentioned Japan as the only largest bilateral development partner of Bangladesh.
The Head of State expressed his gratitude to the Japanese government for providing assistance to various mega projects in Bangladesh.
Highlighting the investment potentials in Bangladesh, the President urged Japanese investors to invest in various sectors, including ICT, medical equipment and tourism.
President Shahabuddin also urged the Japanese government for extending necessary cooperation to end the Rohingyas crisis in a dignified manner.
During the meeting, the outgoing Japanese ambassador expressed his gratitude to the President for his full cooperation in fulfilling his duties here.
Senior Secretary of the President’s Office Nasimul Ghani and Military Secretary Major General Mohammad Adil Chowdhury were present during the meeting.
