Tanzim elected president, Baten general secretary of ATJFB

DHAKA, Dec 20, 2024 (BSS) - The Aviation and Tourism Journalists' Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB), a platform for aviation and tourism reporters, has elected its new executive committee for a two-year term.

Md Tanzim Anwar, Special Correspondent of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), was elected as President, while Baten Biplob, Chief Correspondent of Asian Television, as General Secretary for 2025-‘26 term. 

The elections took place on Friday afternoon at the Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) auditorium in Bijoynagar’s Paltan Tower in the capital, following the forum’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The AGM, which started at 10 a.m. and continued until 1 p.m., featured presentations by the outgoing committee on its financial and organizational activities. 

Jatiya Press Club President and Kaler Kantho Editor Hasan Hafiz and the club’s General Secretary Ayub Bhuiyan, delivered congratulatory speeches during the session.
Voting for the new executive committee began at 2:30 p.m. and concluded later in the day.
The other office bearers of the committee are - Vice President: Rajib Ghosh, Special Correspondent, DBC News; Joint Secretary: Md. Shafiullah Suman, Senior Reporter, Bangladesh Television (BTV); Finance Secretary: Mahfuz Kamal Babu, Senior Reporter, Channel 24; Organizational Secretaries (Joint): Zulhas Kabir, Special Correspondent, Bangla Affairs; Adnan Rahman, Chief Correspondent, Dhaka Post; Publicity and Publication Secretary: Altaf Hossain, Special Correspondent, Jaijaidin and Office Secretary: Niamul Aziz Sadeq, Correspondent, NTV
Muktadir Rashid Romeo, Special Correspondent, Bangla Outlook; Masud Rumi, Business Editor, Kaler Kantho; Rashidul Hasan, Senior Reporter, The Daily Star; Khalid Ahsan, Senior Reporter, BTV; Golam Mortuza Antu, Senior Reporter, bdnews24.com have been elected as the executive committee members. 

The election was conducted under the supervision of Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of Bangladesh Monitor. The election commission members included Niladri Maharatna and Sohel Hossain Patwari.
