CHATTOGRAM, Dec 20, 2024 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Advisor Farook-e-Azam, Bir Pratik, today laid emphasis on preserving environment and bio-diversity in Banshkhali, a coastal upazila in Chattogram, for economic benefit of the region.
“Preserving environment and biodiversity is crucial for overall development of the region as they have immense potential in the coastal area, he said.
The adviser was addressing a publication ceremony of the special issue of ‘Samvabonar Banshkhali Upazila. ‘Monthly Chatgaon Digest’ organised the programme at Chattaogram Circuit House as the chief guest.
Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Nurullah Nuri, Ekushey Award winner journalist and Dainik Amader Somoy Editor Poet Abdul Momen and Ekushey Award winner journalist and Dainik Azadi Editor M A Malek, addressed the function as special guests with Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam in the chair.
The adviser lauded journalist Sirazul Karim Manik, Editor of Chatgaon Digest, for showcasing heritage and natural beauty of Chattogram and Banshkhali since long.
Poet and Editor of Amader Somoy Abul Momen said, we are passing very challenging in the present globalised world. We should go ahead accepting the global challenges through our history, heritage and culture.
Dainik Azadi Editor M A Malek said that everybody should enjoy every moment of life as we do not know whether we will alive tomorrow. “We are sitting here for the freedom of 1971 and are talking independently for the freedom of 2024,” he added.
Among others, Professor Dr Joynob Begum, Treasurer of East Delta University Professor Dr Siddique Alam Chowdhury, addressed the function when Monthly Chatgoan Digest Editor Sirazul Karim Manik conducted it.
Later, 20 prominent citizens were awarded for outstanding performance in their respective fields.
