Speakers for time-befitting technical education

CHATTOGRAM, 21 Dec (BSS) - Speakers at a roundtable here today laid emphasis on time-befitting technical education aiming at developing skilled manpower to exploit opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution. 

There was no alternative to job-oriented proper technical education for sustainable development of the country, the discussants opined at the roundtable Alumni Association of Centre for Business Studies of Chittagong University (CUCBA). 

Faculty Dean of CU Business Studies Administration Prof S M Nasrul Quadir, Prof Mohammad Tayeb Chowdhry of CU Business Administration Dept, Adviser of Alumni Association Prof Sajib Kumer Gosh, Chairman of Human Resources Dept of CU Prof Dr Mohammad Aftab Uddin and additional executive director of BEPZA Ashfaq Md Shahdat Hossain, among others, took part in the discussion while association President Mohammad Yousuf chaired it. 

Senior officials from different corporate houses, banks, journalists and students also participated in the discussion, held at Sultan Ahmad hall at Chattogram Press Club. 

The speakers also put importance on bringing necessary reforms, synchronisation and of the education system with dissemination of technical knowledge side by side theoretical one aiming at building a skilled human resource in the country.    

Addressing the function, Prof S M Nasrul Quadir called upon the students to concentrate more on their studies to cope with the coming challenges as the world has already entered Artificial Intelligence (AI) era.
