DHAKA, Dec 25, 2024 (BSS) – BNP Standing Committee member AZM Zahid Hossain today called for maintaining unity to bring positive change in the country.

"If the nation would have failed to demonstrate united strength in past, then we would all have failed. The nation was united on August 5 and as a result of that, the dictator had fled. Therefore, everyone will have to maintain unity in the future as well," he said.

Zahid made the call while speaking at a discussion titled '31 Points to Repair the State Structure: Perspective Textile Sector', held at the Jatiya Press Club auditorium here under the initiative of the Nationalist Textile Engineers’ Association.

Zahid called on the interim government to take the initiative to remove the cohorts of the ousted dictator for ensuring fairness  in the administration.

He said, "We have confidence in Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. The people of the country are cooperating the government selflessly. Therefore, they (the government) will have to take time befitting decisions quickly with utmost sincerity."

BNP Joint Secretaries General Khairul Kabir Khokon and Abdus Salam Azad were present, among others, on the occasion with Nationalist Textile Engineers Association President Fakhrul Alam in the chair.
