DHAKA, Dec 26, 2024 (BSS) - The “Research Incentive Awarding Ceremony-2023” and the “Online Launching of International Journal of Science and Technology (MIJST) of December 2024 issue were held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of General Mustafiz Tower at Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) here today .
MIST Commandant Major General Md Nasim Parvez attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
He presented research incentives, certificates, and crests to the top ten researchers recognized for their Scopus-indexed publications in 2023, as well as to the best researcher from MIJST publications, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release this evening.
Professor Dr Md Enamul Haque was awarded for achieving the highest number of Scopus-indexed publications (29) in 2023, while Lieutenant Colonel Dr Md Zahidul Islam, was recognized as the top researcher for his outstanding contributions to MIJST publications.
Director of MIST Research and Development Wing Brigadier General Md Sajjad Hossain, top researcher Professor Dr Md Enamul Haque, and Editor-in-Chief of MIJST Professor Dr Firoz Alam (joined from Australia via video teleconferencing) also took part in the discussion.
Meanwhile, the chief guest, in his concluding speech, paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War of 1971 and also the July-August 2024 movement’s martyrs.
Highlighting the importance of innovative and timely research for the welfare of the nation and humanity, he emphasized the alignment with world-class research standards to promote MIST's standard in the QS World Rankings, the release added.
Deans of faculties, Heads of Departments, professors, researchers, military and civilian staff members, and selected students from various departments attended the event.
The MIST researchers achieved 223 Scopus-indexed publications in 2023, reflecting their dedication to excellence in research, the ISPR added.
