CHATTOGRAM, Dec 26, 2024 (BSS) - Customs Intelligence officials arrested a passenger with 20 gold bars weighing 2.33 kilograms at Shah Amanat International Airport here today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Customs Intelligence and National Security Intelligence (NSI) conducted a joint drive inside Bangladesh Biman flight -BG-148 that came from Dubai 9:25 am and seized the gold worth about Tk 2.6 crore.

The gold will be deposited to the government treasury, customs officials said, adding, the identity of the detained passenger has not been disclosed for investigation and legal process is underway in this regard.
