DHAKA, Dec 26, 2024 (BSS) – Labour and Employment Ministry has formed two committees to assess the damages caused by the fire that broke out at the Building No 7 of Bangladesh Secretariat where the ministry located.
A 5-member committee has been formed to determine the extent of damage to the documents and important records of the ministry, and also to submit recommendations on what to do to prevent damage due to any future accidents, said a press release.
Joint secretary Begum Morsheda Akter was made convener of the committee while Senior Assistant Secretary Mohammad Masum as member secretary.
Other members of the committee are deputy secretary Muhammad Ashraf Hossain, senior assistant secretary Purabi Golder and assistant secretary Md. Mostafizur Rahman
Another committee has been formed to assess the extent of damage to the ministry's assets.
Joint Secretary Md. Abdus Samad Al Azad was made as convener while deputy secretary Md. Kamal Hossain as member secretary.
Other members of the committee are deputy secretary Mohammad Saidur Rahman, system analyst Sukanta Basak, assistant maintenance engineer A. S. M. Mehrab Hossain.
The two committees have been asked to submit reports within next 7 working days.
Earlier, Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (retd) Dr. M Sakhawat Hussain visited the ministry offices at Building No. 7 of Bangladesh Secretariat which caught fire in the early hours of today.
He asked his ministry officials to form 2 committees to assess the damages of the ministry in the fire incident.
