KHULNA, Dec 28, 2024 (BSS)- Detective attested a front-ranking leader of the outlawed Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from Khamerdanga Bazar area in Mongla under Bagerhat district last night.

On a tip-off, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police arrested Ronobir Baroi Sajal, 35, vice-president of Khulna city unit of banned BCL and hailed from Zoar village under Rupsha Upazila.

In the preliminary investigation, DB Inspector Toimur Alam said they got information of seven cases related to various crimes, including murder, pending against Ronobir Baroi.

He also said Ronobir Baroi led the attacks on the students during the movement of anti-discrimination students in July and multiple videos of the attacks were found. 

This noon, police sent him to court and it sent him to jail.
