CHATTOGRAM, Dec 29 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said there is no justified reason to be worried about reforms as BNP had launched 31-point proposals long before, and the party is committed to implement those exactly.
“ Apart from 31-points , party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia had also announced Vision-2030 which consists of many time-befitting reform concept before the nation,” Khosru said while speaking as chief guest here at the orientation function of the students enrolled to Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) for 2023-2024 academic year.
CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman spoke as chief patron of the program while Dhaka University Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury spoke as ceremonial speaker with CVASU Director (Student Welfare ) Prof. Rashedul Alam Chowdhury in the chair.
CVASU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md Kamal, dean of Food sciences and technology Prof. Ferdousi Akter, dean of Fisheries faculty Prof. Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Ala Nahid, proctor Dr. Mohammad Mahbubur Rhman, newly enrolled students – Arafat Howleder and Maria Anu among others addressed the function held at CVASU campus in the city.
Paying profound tribute to the martyrs, and recalling the contributions of those who were oppressed during anti-fascist movement in last 17 years particularly in July- August student led-upsurge, Amir Khosru said a strong wave of changes transpired into the people’s mindset as well as new concept is being emerged after fall of the fascist regime.
“But future politics will become difficult for those who could not match with and capable himself to adopt the changed philosophy and thought of new Bangladesh,” the former minister and member of BNP’s highest policy making body said.
Amir Khosru accused ousted Hasina led-AL regime for resorting ill-culture of political criminalization and destroying social fabrics of the country during its rule saying, such political curses were the root causes of past social, political and economic disaster.
He also urged all to work together to build a civilized society nurturing the culture of tolerance and respect to other’s opinion.
Amir Khosru called upon the CVASU students to update themselves with the global changes occurred in all spectrums of knowledge and technology through getting in the domain of vast knowledge flow.
Lauding the contributions of CVASU in the field of research and introducing pragmatic curriculum, he said country’s huge advantage in the population demography has created an ample scope for us to enhance social assets by turning the youth as skilled human resources.
VC Prof. Lutfur Rahman said CVASU has earned reputation at home and abroad for having international standard curriculum and well-equipped labs apart from introducing Probe-Based Learning (PBL) method.
As a specialized higher educational institute –CVASU has been working relentlessly to improve the overall conditions of human being, environment and livestock.
