Standard Chartered, Ispahani Hospital set to deliver gift of sight to 260,000

 
DHAKA, Dec 30, 2024 (BSS) - Standard Chartered Bangladesh and Ispahani 
Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital (IIEI&H) have partnered to set up 71 
comprehensive Eye Health Camps for adult beneficiaries and 1,667 Student 
Sight Testing Programmes (SSTP) for school-going children.
 
The initiative will reach 10,000 adults across the capital and 250,000 
students across Naogaon, Jamalpur, Barishal, Borguna and Moulvibazar 
districts. The initiative will also support the transportation of surgery 
patients and provide beneficiaries with eyewear, optics, and essential 
medicine, said a press release here today.

Standard Chartered and Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital have been 
working together for more than 20 years to prevent avoidable blindness. 

Through this partnership, Standard Chartered Bangladesh is addressing the 
needs of marginalised and vulnerable groups through targeted interventions 
and service expansion, both in terms of technology and infrastructure 
investments, and through upskilling and training of eye-health workers.

Naser Ezaz Bijoy, chief executive officer (CEO) of Standard Chartered
