DHAKA, Dec 30, 2024 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) Md. Masud Karim today stressed the need for changing behaviour of police and extending desired services to the people to gain their trust.
“The important thing that the police forces need to change their behaviour. If the behaviour of the police changes, it will be easy to earn the trust of the people,” he said.
He made the remarks at a view-exchange meeting, organized by the police, students, public and respected citizens under Hatirjheel police station area at a local community center in Madhubagh.
"If a service seeker returns from the police station with satisfaction, then the police are successful and the police stations will be people-friendly," Masud Karim said.
He called upon the city dwellers to help police in checking crimes and maintaining law and order.
"Along with the police, the city residents should also come forward to solve social problems including drugs, extortion, juvenile gangs and robbery," he said.
Tejgaon Division Deputy Police Commissioner Mohammad Ruhul Kabir Khan presided over the meeting.
Police officers of various ranks of Tejgaon Division, leaders of various political, social, professional, religious organizations, heads of educational institutions and leaders of student movements were present.
