Met office forecasts dry weather over country

DHAKA, Dec 31, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted that weather may remain dry for the next 24 hours over the country beginning this morning.

The forecast, which begins at 9 a.m., says, "Weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country."

Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to Western part of Bangladesh and adjoining areas. A seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to Northeast Bay.

Moderate to dense fog may occur over Northern part of the country during midnight to noon. Light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country during midnight till morning. 

Air navigation, Inland River transport and road communication may be disrupted temporarily due to dense fog.

Night and Day temperature may fall slightly over the country. Due to dense fog cold feelings may increase.

Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 30.5 degrees celsius jointly at Cox's Bazar and Sitakunda and minimum temperature today was recorded 10.9 degrees celsius at Tetulia.

The sun sets today at 05:22 pm and rises tomorrow at 06:41 am in the capital.
