DHAKA, Dec 31, 2024 (BSS) - Two dengue patients died while 84 patients were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning.

"During the period, 13 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 21 in Chattogram, 16 in Dhaka division, 15 in Dhaka North city while 13 in Dhaka South, two in Rajshahi, one in Mymensingh and three were admitted to different hospitals in Khulna," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

This year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214 while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period, the statement added.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases.
