Met office forecasts dry weather over country 

DHAKA, Jan 01, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted that weather may remain dry over the country for the next 24 hours beginning from this morning.

"Weather may remain dry with the temporary partly cloudy sky over the country", said the forecast beginning from 9am today.

The ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending it are through to Northeast Bay.

Moderate to dense fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning and it may continue till noon at places. 

Air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may disrupt temporarily due to thick fog.

Night temperature may fall slightly over Rangpur, Rajshahi & Khulna divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. 

Day temperature may fall by (2-3) øC over the Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, it may rise by (1-2)øC over the Rajshahi division and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. 

Due to dense fog cold feelings may persist at places over the country during daytime.

Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 29.5 degrees Celsius at Teknaf and minimum temperature today was recorded at 10.6 degrees Celsius at Dinajpur.

The sun sets today at 05:22 AM and rises tomorrow at 06:42 PM in the capital.
