Govt allocates relief goods, foods for arson victims of Pirganj

RANGPUR, Oct 19, 2021 (BSS) – The government has allocated 100 bundles

of corrugated iron sheets and Taka three lakh for house construction
to assist the arson attack Hindu victims of Pirganj upazila in
Rangpur.

“Besides, 200 packets of dry and other foodstuffs have also been
allotted as humanitarian assistance for the victim Hindu families,”
said a press release today.

 The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief allocated the
corrugated iron sheets, cash money and foodstuffs yesterday.

Each of the 200 packets contains eight food items including 10 kgs of
‘miniket’ rice, one kg of lentil, one kg of iodised salt, one liter of
soybean oil, one kg of sugar, 100 grams of powdered pepper, 200 grams
of powdered turmeric and 100 grams of powdered coriander.

Each packet of food is expected to feed a family of four for about a week.

“Instructions have been issued to distribute the sanctioned corrugated
iron sheets, cash money and food items among the victim families in
consultation with the Member of Parliament concerned,” the release
added.
