Court orders to attach house, plots, flats of Nafeez Sarafat

DHAKA, Jan 7, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the authorities concerned to attach houses, plots and flats of Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, former chairman of Padma Bank PLC's board of director, his wife Anjuman Ara Shahid and son Chowdhury Rahib Sarafat.

Metropolitan Sessions Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Masudur Rahman, ACC deputy director and chief of a probe committee formed in this regard, filed the plea to attach immovable properties owned by the family. ACC public prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir moved the plea before the court.

The properties owned by Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, which have been ordered to be attached are- a 20-story building in Gulshan, a plot in Gulshan, four plots in Dhaka Cantonment, one flat in Nikunjo, fifty percent share of a flat in Basundhara Residential Area, two plots in Nikunjo, 2.5 katha plot in Badda, two 10 katha plots in Kaliakoir, Gazipur, another plot in Gazipur sadar, a plot in Joar Sahar, seven katha plot in Purbachol.

Properties in the name of Anjuman Ara Shahid, which are to be attached are- a four-story house on a 7.5 katha plot in Basundhara Residential Area, a plot in Panthopath, one in Gulshan Link Road, one in Mirpur DOHS, one in Shahjadpur, fifty percent share of a flat in Basundhara Residential Area, three katha plot in Nikunjo, 2.5 katha plot in Badda, and another plot in Gazipur sadar.

Three Banani flats and four more in Baridhara owned by Chowdhury Rahib Sarafat will also be attached under today's order.
