DHAKA, Jan 8, 2025 (BSS)- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed three separate cases against former lawmaker of Dhaka-13 constituency Md. Sadeq Khan, his wife Ferdousi Khan, and his son Fahim Sadeq Khan on charges of amassing wealth beyond known sources of income.
 
The cases were filed today with ACC, said ACC Director General (Prevention) Md Akther Hossain at a press briefing. Sadek Khan was made the accused in all three cases.
 
During the inquiry, the commission has found that Md Sadeq Khan owns immovable assets of over Taka 9.83 crore and movable assets of over Taka 2.41 crore.
 
Besides, while serving as a lawmaker, Sadeq Khan made unusual transactions of over Taka 466.47 crore through 29 bank accounts in his own name and the names of the organizations he owned through abuse of power, which is a punishable offense under Section 4(2)(3) of the Money Laundering Prevention Act (MLPA) of 2012 and Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
 
The ACC filed another case against Sadeq Khan's wife, Ferdousi Khan. Sadeq Khan has also been named as an accused in this case.
 
The ACC has found that Ferdousi Khan has owned assets of over Taka 5.98 crore beyond known sources of income.
 
In the third case, Sadeq Khan's son, Fahim Sadeq Khan, was made an accused. The ACC also made Sadeq Khan an accused in this case.
 
Fahim Sadeq Khan has owned undeclared assets of over Taka 6.12 crore, which is a punishable offense under Section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission, 2004.
