MYMENSINGH, Jan 15, 2025 (BSS) – Nine faculty members and one former student of BAU have secured places among the world’s top researchers, according to the 2024 Scopus-indexed journal rankings.
Of the top ten researchers -- Dr. Md. Tanvir Rahman, a professor of the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene -- is leading the list as he published 20 research articles last year.
Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam from the Department of Agribusiness and Marketing, and Dr. Md. Shahjahan from the Department of Fisheries Management, are the two other researchers to secure a position as they published 18 research papers each.
Several other distinguished researchers have also earned this recognition through their contributions to high-impact journals.
Other researchers include - Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahfujul Haque from the Department of Aquaculture, Professor Dr. Md. Golzar Hossain and Professor Dr. Muhammad Tofazzal Hossain from the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene, Professor Dr. Ismat Ara Begum from the Department of Agricultural Economics, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossain from the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding.
The list also features Md. Imran Hossain, a former student of BAU from the Department of Agricultural Finance and Banking, as well as Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman Khan, a distinguished professor.
Highlighting the achievement, BAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan said, “This accomplishment underscores the excellence of BAU in research and solidifies our global standing. Our faculty and researchers have worked tirelessly to reach this milestone. I am optimistic that this momentum will continue in the future.”
