BHOLA, Oct 23, 2021 (BSS) - Alleging that conspiracies are being hatched
to create instability in the country and deter the ongoing development
efforts, Planning Minister MA Mannan today said that all such ill attempts
would surely be resisted.

   "No one who is against Bangladesh will be tolerated on this soil," he
said.

   The planning minister was addressing a civic gathering at Charfashion
Upazila Parishad here in the district. The minister addressed the function
after visiting the proposed project site for saving Charfashion and Monpura
from river erosion.

   Mentioning that there are some people who often say that they would not go
for election, Mannan said that everyone has the right for not participating
in an election.

   "But, we won't accept if anyone says that they would not let election to
take place. This is our country and there is no other way here to become
Prime Minister, without taking part in an election," he added.

   The Planning Minister said under the dynamic and able leadership of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh would stand in the same line of Malaysia
and Singapore within the next 5 to 10 years. "We've surpassed neighboring
India and Pakistan in many areas over the last 12 years," he added.

   He also assured of providing all-out support in implementing projects for
saving the people of Charfashion from river erosion.

   Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman on the Ministry of Youth and
Sports Abdullah Al Islam Jakob spoke on the occasion as special guest
presided over by Upazila Parishad Chairman Joynal Abedin Akhon.

   Deputy Commissioner Towfik-E-Elahi Chowdhury, Upazila Awami League general
secretary Nurul Islam, VP, and Poura mayor Mohammad Morshed spoke, among
others, on the occasion.
