Pakistan keen to provide support in Bangladesh’s livestock development: PHC

JHENAIDAH, Feb 5, 2025 (BSS) – Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Syed Ahmed Maroof today said Pakistan is ready to provide all out support for livestock development in Bangladesh.

“Pakistan government is ready to provide all out support to Bangladesh for livestock variety development, milk and meat processing”, he said.

The Pakistani envoy expressed his country’s desire while speaking   a livestock farmers’ conference arranged at Harihara government primary school premises under Shailokupa upazila here this morning. 

The  High Commissioner said :  “if Bangladesh government shows interes,  then Pakistan government will provide all out cooperation in this regard.”

Livestock and Fisheries Adviser Farida Akhter attended the function as the chief guest while Tariqul Islam Turkey, a firm owner, presided over the function.

Attorney General Advocate M Asaduzzaman and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal spoke the function as the special guests.

The agriculture and livestock husbandry in  Bangladesh and Pakistan are almost same, said the Pakistani diplomat  adding “Pakistan has made significant progress in dairy products processing and meat production processing and marketing.”

Maroof said Bangladeshi livestock and dairy farmers are very much industrious. “If Bangladesh government requires any assistance,  Pakistan government is ready to provide entire support in livestock variety development, milk and meat processing sector”, he added.

LDDP’s project director Dr M Jashim Uddin, former dean of the agriculture faculty of the Rajshahi University Professor Dr Aminul Islam and President of the Teesta River Protection Committee Faridul Islam Farid also were present at  the function.
