DHAKA, Feb 05, 2025(BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain today said education with morality is a must to be a good human-being.

“Patriotism cannot be built up among human-being without morality with education,” he said this while addressing an orientation programme of the Fall and Spring Semesters students of Bangladesh Islami University (BIU) in the city’s Mugda area as the chief guest.

Attaching importance on inclusion of religion with education, the adviser said without moral education, we can obtain certificates only.

Most of the prominent universities across the world are private and the standard of these universities are any way not inferior to public universities, the adviser said adding that these types of universities were established based on religion.

In this connection, he mentioned the name of Egypt’s Al Azhar University, one of the oldest universities in the world and said that the university was established based on a mosque.

The adviser stated that students would be involved in various immoral activities including irregularity and corruption after passing the examinations if their morality is not built up with education.

He urged the students to avoid all sorts of immoral acts and keep their moral high.

“After the War of Liberation, we have made the educational institutions as den of politics and the blind partisan politics have destroyed us,” he said adding that there was no such political culture in the world like Bangladesh.

Dr Khalid Hossain urged the freshers of the semesters to come out from these traditional partisan politics and to be devoted into learning aimed at building themselves as the worthy citizens of the country.

He also urged the university authorities to ensure transparency in all activities of the university.

Chaired by Vice-Chancellor of the University Kazi Akhter Hossain, Founder and Chairman of the University Prof. Kamal Uddin Abdullah Zafree, VC of the Bangladesh Islamic Arabic University (BIAU) Prof. Dr. Md Shamsul Alam, Editor of Dainik Jugantar Abdul Hay Sikdar and Trustee of the Private University Syed Zarif Zafree addressed the function.

Teachers, officers, employees and students of the university were present, among others, on the occasion.
