DHAKA, Feb 6, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today imposed a travel ban on former Minister of Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Bir Bahadur U Shwe Sing, his wife Mayhla Prue Marma and their three children over graft allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senio Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Assistant director Md Abdul Malek of ACC filed the plea with the court.
The ACC, in its plea, said they are probing allegations against the former minister of amassing huge illegal wealth and the accused and his family members are trying to flee the country to evade justice.
For the sake of proper investigation, travel ban should be imposed on them, the ACC said.
