HABIGANJ, Feb 6, 2025 (BSS) - Police today arrested five people from the Sundarpur area under Madhabpur upazila for their alleged involvement in the killing of BNP leader Mohsin Mia.

The arrestees are Faisal Mia, son of Jamir Ali of Bakharnagar village; Rubel Ahmed Roni, 26, son of Shah Alam Mia of Mankipur village; Joynal Mia, son of Achddor Ali; Jalal Mia, 32, son of Dubai Mia of Sundarpur village in Madhabpur upazila; and Ruhul Amin, 24, son of Idris Ali of Ulukandi village in Chunarughat upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a house in the area and arrested them.

On February 3, a gang of robbers attacked two BNP leaders on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway. BNP leader Mohsin Mia was killed in the attack.

On February 5, police filed a case in connection with the incident.
