DHAKA, Feb 15, 2025 (BSS) – The Judiciary Reform Commission has recommended for establishing a permanent and independent Law Education Board under the Ministry of Education to monitor quality and improvement of law education.
The commission headed by former Justice Shah Abu Nayeem Mominur Rahman handed over its 28-point recommendation to the Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus on February 5.
The commission in its 24th number recommendation said this board will formulate and implement policies to monitor the quality of law education.
It also suggested introducing admission test for law (honors) courses in the universities in a coordinated manner.
The commission however, recommended for modernizing the law curriculum by giving importance on research and suggested encouraging English as the medium of law education, but not to make it mandatory.
The recommendations of the commission also included inserting articles on law and human rights in secondary classes and law as a subject in higher secondary classes.
