DHAKA, Feb 20, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken 
special security measures in and around of the Central Shaheed Minar and 
elsewhere in the country for peaceful observation of the International Mother 
Language Day-2025.

"A sufficient number of RAB members have been deployed to strengthen security 
across the country, including Dhaka, from today to prevent any kind of chaos 
and unexpected situations marking the International Mother Language Day," 
said a RAB press release.

RAB reinforced the security measures in all the Shaheed Minars areas across, 
various metropolitan areas, divisional cities, districts and upazila levels 
to ward off untoward situation.

In addition, CCTV/IP cameras and monitoring centers have been installed in 
the Central Shaheed Minar area to bring the inner perimeter and it adjacent 
areas under video surveillance, the release said.

It also said that they have reinforced the security ahead of February 21 by 
reviewing all types of risks and in coordinating with other law enforcement 
agencies, intelligence agencies and local administration. 

All battalions of RAB force have been asked to ensure foolproof security in 
there under their jurisdictions.

RAB-3 has been given the charge of ensuring the overall security in and 
around of the Central Shaheed Minar by setting up observation and check 
posts, in necessary coordination with other law enforcement agencies.

As part of the security measures, RAB's Bomb Disposal Unit and Dog Squad will 
complete the necessary sweeping at the Central Shaheed Minar.

To make the security foolproof, RAB will set up check posts at all the 
intersections leading to Central Shaheed Minar.

RAB will keep a vigilant eye on the safety of women and children visiting 
Shaheed Minar and other venues and prevent eve-teasing or any kind of 
harassment.

RAB Cyber Monitoring Team has been continuing round-the-clock surveillance 
online to prevent the spread of any kind of rumors or provocative information 
or false information in the virtual world.

The battalions will ensure security in coordination with local public 
representatives and other law enforcement agencies in their jurisdiction 
through their respective control rooms. 

The security measures will be monitored and coordinated throughout the 
country including Dhaka through the control room at RAB headquarters.

RAB is working to ensure that members of banned groups/organizations do not 
enter the Shaheed Minar area and create any chaos.

The RAB has sought everyone's cooperation from all to maintain the overall 
law and order situation in the country on the occasion of the great Martyrs' 
Day and International Mother Language Day 2025.
