RANGPUR, Oct 31, 2021 (BSS) - Residential halls of Begum Rokeya
University, Rangpur (BRUR) will reopen for vaccinated (at least 1st dose)
students and their classes and examinations will start in physical presence
from November 11 next.
"In addition to classes and examinations in physical presence, online
classes and examinations will also be conducted, if necessary," said a press
release of the university today.
The decision was taken in the light of government guidelines as the
spread and infection rate of the Covid-19 virus are continuing to decline in
recent times.
On recommendation of the Academic Council of the University, the
decision was taken at the 82nd syndicate meeting held online on Saturday
evening with Vice-chancellor of the University Professor Dr Md Hasibur Rashid
in the chair.
The release noted that at least the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine
recipient students and residential students will be able to come back to
residential halls of the university.
In addition, students should follow hygiene rules like wearing masks,
using hand sanitisers, adhering to social distance, washing hands with soap
and water and using tissues or handkerchiefs in case of sneezing and coughing
as per the health directives.
