KHULNA, March 15, 2025 (BSS) - A mason died after falling from the third floor of an under-construction building in the city today.

The deceased was identified as Afaz Uddin, 40, son of Md Shahidul Islam, residence of the city's TB cross road area.

The incident took place around 9:45am while he was working at the under-construction building of Dr Ahsan Ali, police and local people said.

He sustained serious injuries to his chest and head. His co-workers and locals immediately rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).

However, doctors declared him dead while he was undergoing treatment around 11.45am. His body was kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna Police Station, Howlader Sanowar Hossain Masum, said that the body would be handed over to the family after completing the necessary legal procedures and post-mortem.
