DHAKA, Mar 16, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Railway (BR) has requested people to buy train tickets either by using its designated app or directly from counter to avoid fraudulence and harassment during the upcoming Eid-ul Fitr.

The railway authorities started selling the tickets for special Eid trains from March 14 and some unscrupulous people or agencies can take the opportunity of ticket black marketing due to its huge demand.

For Eid journey, from March 24 to March 30, maximum four tickets can be purchased one time against an ID and the ID holder can endorse the name of co-riders.
Similarly, for return journey from April 3 to April 9, maximum four tickets can be purchased against a particular ID.

The cent percent railway tickets would be sold online for the Eid journey. No other places except the designated app ‘rail seva’ or the designated counter of the railway are allowed to sell railway tickets, said BR official sources.

So, the people will face harassment or will be victim of fraudulence, if they purchases tickets from any person, agency or places instead of those two designated ways.
 As per the rules of the railway, person who will purchase tickets using his particular ID would be allowed to travel with his mobile phone and the ID.

Legal action will be taken if any person tries to travel by train using the ticket purchased against an ID belongs to other under the rules of Bangladesh Railway.
People have been asked to inform the concerned railway officials or handover to the law enforcement agencies if any quarters or black marketers try to sell the railway tickets which are purchased against other’s ID.

Passengers have been asked to take help from Bangladesh Railway security force and the government railway police (GRP) and allegations can be sent through dialing hotline 131 of Bangladesh Railway.
