DHAKA, March 16, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has said they have been working tirelessly to ensure safety and security of the city dwellers.
“During the holy month of Ramadan, busy people rush to their homes for Iftar with their loved ones at the end of the day. But, for the safety of the public, on duty police officers have to take Iftar at their duty stations or sometimes on the road,” he said.
The DMP chief made the remarks while having an Iftar with on duty police officers after sitting on the street near a temporary police control room in front of the Bashundhara Shopping Mall at Panthapath in the capital on Saturday evening.
His wife and Vice-President of Police Women Welfare Association (Punak) Rahena Sultana accompanied her husband and served several Iftar items among the police personnel prepared by her.
At that time, the DMP Commissioner exchanged greetings with the police personnel and inspired them to work for overall security of the city residents despite many hardships.
Officers of various levels of the DMP were present on the occasion.
