BSKF, BFUNPW demand formation of 10th wage board

DHAKA, March 17, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Sangbadpathro Karmachari Federation (BSKF) and Bangladesh Federal Union of Newspaper Press Workers (BFUNPW) today demanded quick formation of 10th wage board for journalists and newspaper employees-workers and implementation of the 9th wage board award in all newspapers. 

The leaders of the two apex bodies of the employees in mass media sector made the demands from a joint human chain and protest programme held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city this morning, said a press release.

BSKF President Matiur Rahman Talukder presided over the event while BFUNPW President Md Alamgir Hossain Khan spoke as the chief speaker.

BSKF Secretary General Md Khairul Islam conducted the programme while BFUNPW Secretary General Mushtaq Ahmad, Senior Executive Member Mohammad Ali Khan, BSKF Joint Secretary General Md Tanvir Hossain, Md Tazammel Haque and Md Jahangir Hossain spoke at the event, among others. 

The BSKF and BFUNPW organized the protest programme to press home their 11-point demand including reformation of Media Reform Commission and announcement of 100 percent dearness allowance (DA).

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of the two federations urged the government to accept their demands. They also threatened to go for tougher programmes after the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr if the government doesn't accept their demands.
