Adviser Khalid for united efforts to build a prosperous Bangladesh

DHAKA, March 26, 2025 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid today said independence Bangladesh was achieved through an armed struggle.

“The independence is the source of our inspiration and our pride,” he said while speaking at a programme of ‘Khatome Quran, discussion and milad mahfil’ held at the south plaza of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque as chief guest.

Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) arranged the programme on the occasion of the great Independence and National Day.

“We got a land named Bangladesh through an armed struggle in 1971,” he said, adding, “We got an independent flag, land and a state.”

He urged all to come forward shunning narrowness to develop the country.  He also called for all concerned to reject those who looted country’s assets and properties and laundered money abroad.

Praying for the salvation of the departed souls of the martyred freedom fighters, Dr Khalid paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives and were wounded in the War of Liberation in 1971.

IFB Director General Abdus Salam Khan presided over the event while Director, Din-e-Dawat and Culture department of the foundation Dr Harunur Rashid also addressed the programme.

Later, special prayers and Doa were held there seeking the development and prosperity of the country.

Among others, Director, Finance and Accounts of the foundation Md Abdul Hamid Khan, its Director-Coordination Md Mohiuddin, Director Planning Md Bazlur Rashid and Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Muhammad Mohibullahil Baki, were present on the occasion.
