DHAKA, March 29, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Railway Police today arrested a youth allegedly involved in ticket black marketing from Kamalapur Railway Station.
Police seized a smart mobile phone set and 21 railway tickets on various routes from his procession, said an officer of Bangladesh Railway (BR) here today.
The arrested person was identified as Md Rakib Miah (24), who was allegedly involved in ticket black marketing.
Earlier, the authorities concerned issued a note of warning against ticket black marketing though a section of people are active in black marketing of train tickets.
The law enforcement agencies as well as the BR have been working tirelessly to ensure smooth train journey through selling of train ticket online and mobile apps as well.
The railway authority has also been conducting drive against ticket black marketing to prevent those unfair activities, a railway officer engaged at Kamalapur station said.
He said the drive will continue till Eid festival is over.
According to BR, the government introduced additional and special trains for easy travel of homebound passengers this year.
As part of the initiative, additional five pairs of special trains; Chandpur Eid Special-1 and Chandpur Eid Special-2 will run on Chattogram-Chandpur-Chattogram section.
Dewanganj Eid Special-3 and Dewanganj Eid Special-4 will be run on Dhaka- Dewanganj-Dhaka section. Solakia Eid Special-5 and Solakia Eid Special-6 will ply on Bhairab Bazar-Kishorganj-Bhairab Bazar section, while Solakia Eid Special-7 and Solakia Eid Special-8 will run on Mymensingh-Kishorganj-Mymensingh section.
Parbatipur Eid Special-9 and Parbatipur Eid Special-10 will run on Joydebpur- Parbatipur-Joydebpur section.
The post Eid schedule of Parbatipur Eid Special trains; Parbatipur Eid Special-9 will leave Joydebpur station from 8:15am and reach Parbatipur 2:50pm and Parbatipur Eid Special-10 will depart Parbatipur station from 10:20am and reach Joydebpur 5:45pm.
Talking to passenger at Kamalapur station this correspondent identified that additional security forces, police, RAB, APBN, Ansar and fire service members are on duty at the railway station.
Dhaka Divisional Commandant of the Railway Security Force Mohammad Shafiqul Islam recently told BSS that additional 200 Ansar members were added to the existing 490 Railway Security Force.
He said round-the-clock security was arranged at all major stations including Dhaka, Airport, Joydevpur, Chittagong, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, and other major stations with the cooperation of GRP, RNB, BGB, local police and RAB.
Islam said railway police have been providing three-tier security at Kamalapur station to prevent any untoward situation.
The activities of RNB, GRP and railway employees will be further strengthened to prevent any kind of ill attempt on moving trains, stations or railway lines.
The railway authorities already introduced separate gates for entry and exit to this end.
